Our Past Friends
They will remain in our hearts forever
Bo
Bo, Bowie, Bo Bo. How ever you would like to nickmame him, he was an adorable, full of energy piggie. Bo was bred to be little and cute for kids and adults alike to fawn over at a petting zoo. However, once new babies arrived he was considered waste.
Bo found a loving home here for two years, where he was far from being exploited like a toy again.
Bo was euthanised in October 2022 due to an unrepairable injury to his right shoulder, after many treatments, rehabilitation and vet consults.
We are grateful he is no longer in pain. He will be missed by all who knew him
Barney
Our delicate little boy. Although we only got to be his friend and show him what kindness and love is for 39 days, we will continue to save animals like him, for him. Not only was Barney born a male calf (considered ‘a waste product’ in the meat & dairy industry), he was also premature which made him less than profitable in the industry. Thus, he was left in a muddy paddock to die with flies swarming his eyes and tick-ridden. After countless vet visits and the nights we spent in the barn by his side, he was still in so much pain. With our hearts full of sadness and love for this beautiful boy, we had to let him go. Though, he has fuelled us with more passion to save farmed animals, because even though his time with us was fleeting, he got to know unconditional love from us and his friends Tassie and Daisy.
Moo Moo
An exploited Dairy Cow for eight years, Moo Moo had a life of misery and was considered waste once she wasn’t producing enough milk after being artificially impregnated eight times. A loving couple saved her and created a safe oasis for her for ten years. Now, Moo Moo is at her forever home here at Moo to Ewe. She has become friends with the young ones, being a bit softer with their playing compared to Hope, Ray and Howie. As Moo Moo is struggling with arthritis, Tassie gives her a helping push every once in a while!
Andy
On 22nd May 2019, we visited a nearby farm. The person that ran the farm purchased discarded calves from sales yards in the local region, brought them home to her farm in efforts to make them ‘healthier’ & on sell them. Andy and Diago were brothers, in poor condition & obviously were not receiving the milk their tiny bodies required at such a young age. We decided to rescue them so we could make sure they got the nutrition and attention they needed. Sadly, Andy was only with us for a short time upon arrival. Though, we are relieved he knew love in the last hours of his short life.
Diago
Diago was rushed to the local vet as soon as he arrived, immediately being placed on a drip. Unfortunately, his body was not strong enough either. Even though Diago and Andy’s lives at Moo to Ewe were brief, we will always remember them with so much love, and continue to provide as much love and care to victims in similar situations. Sadly, Diago and Andy’s circumstances aren’t unique, with many calves not receiving the attention and nutrients they need, cast aside by farmers claiming they are ‘waste’ within the industry and very rarely do those innocent beings feel any kind of love.
